How a teenager can lose weight when their parents by the food?
December 20th, 2009 | by admin |One of my online weight loss buddies, who is 15, is having trouble losing weight. She says her parents do the grocery shopping and she has no say as to what kind of food is bought. She said it’s like they have no idea how to eat. So how does someone who has no control over the food that is around them lose a lot of weight?
you don’t understand…they AREN’T BUYING healthy food. She HAS TO EAT IT or eat nothing.
and Brian, yes it DOES matter WHAT you eat…retard.
If she’s 15 she can eat a nutritional lunch at school. Fruit is an inexpensive choice for breakfast and snacks. I would hope her parents wouldn’t refuse buying her inexpensive healthy options that she and her whole family could eat. If she expresses her concern with her health maybe they will be more understanding. She could present them with information from the USDA or from the site where you are online buddies with her. You could also tell her the importance of portion control and recommend that she takes a multi-vitamin everday, drinks lots of water and makes sure to exercise AT LEAST 30 min 4-5 times a week.

No one is putting it in her mouth except your friend. Tell her to eat fruits and veggies and protein. No sweets, nothing with lots of fat. I am sure her parents are buying fruits and veggies and chicken and things. Maybe she should offer to cook the dinner so she can make sure it is low in fat.
Wishing her good luck.

eat less of it…as far as losing weight goes, it doesnt matter what you eat, its how many calories you eat. you can eat only cheesecake and still lose weight if you wanted, but you would have to eat in a calorie deficit. if your maintenece is 2000 calories, and you eat 1500 calories of cheese cake, you will lose 1 pound per week just as if you ate 1500 calories of chicken and broccolli. now her health may not be ideal, but as long as shes excercising regularly that shouldnt be a huge problem either…

Portion Control. Tell her to use a measuring cup, and measure her food. Read the back of the bag, box, package..eat ONLY The recommended amount per serving suggested. It’s not about WHAT she eats, it’s HOW Much. I hope they at least by Apples, Bananas, and Pears….tell her to fill up on Fruit and veggies, (If they buy them)
